James Kramer Steps Down as Director of Sports Information and Athletic Communications

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After eight years of service James Kramer, Director of Sports Information and Athletic Communications, has announced his resignation from MIT effective May 14.
Kramer arrived in Cambridge as the Assistant Director of Sports Information, and assumed that title for a year before transitioning into his current role. During his tenure, he transformed the Institute's athletic image through various initiatives and set new standards for print production of athletics-related materials.
In 2004, Kramer strengthened the web presence of MIT's 41 intercollegiate varsity programs with the launching of www.mitathletics.com. The following year, he guided a student-led leadership initiative resulting in the nation's first hi-definition broadcast for intercollegiate athletics. Kramer also spearheaded the development of the Institute's first athletic brand, providing a new visual identity for the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER). This spring, he capped his legacy as the driving force behind MIT's webcasting initiative which resulted in a partnership with B2 Networks.
