NORTHFIELD, VT. - The MIT rifle team traveled to its first road match of the season, falling the Norwich University. Although Tech lost in both guns, the team had a strong performance.
Norwich topped the Engineers, 2264 to 2090 in smallbore, and snagged a 2268 to 2150 victory in air rifle. Nathan Pfaff was the day's high shooter for MIT in both guns. Joseph Kovac shot 534 to record a personal high in smallbore for the season, while Jian-Ming Lee and Rob Grimes also enjoyed record-breaking afternoon's with personal high's in both smallbore and air.
The Engineers are still finding their legs as the season enters its third week. Jay Gill made his debut with the squad on Saturday, proof that Tech is still reloading its lineup. The Engineers, who boast a young contingent of shooters, also received a personal high from Wes McKinney in air.
