March 8, 2007

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Standout freshman Emily Houston, who emerged as one of the top rookie marksmen in the nation this season, has qualified to compete at the Women's Junior Olympic Shooting Championships, to be held at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., from Sunday, Mar. 11 to Saturday, Mar. 17. The Burke, Va., native will be hoping to secure a spot on the U.S. Olympic Development Team with a strong showing.

Houston qualified for both the air and smallbore rifle competitions, but will only compete in air due to time restrictions.

The event will be run by USA Shooting, which is the national governing body for the Olympic sport of shooting.
