CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the latest Sperry – Top Sider College Rankings, the MIT coed sailing team was voted 13th as announced by Sailing World this week. Previously ranked No. 14, the Engineers continued their season-long presence in the national poll.
A member of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association, MIT is one of 10 teams from the league to earn a national ranking. Fellow conference foes include: Yale (No. 1), Brown (No. 4), Boston College (No. 6), Roger Williams University (No. 8), Tufts University (No. 9), Harvard (No. 15), Dartmouth (No. 16), Vermont (No. 19), and Connecticut College (No. 20). The Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association was represented by six squads, followed by two from the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association, and one apiece from the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference and the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association.
This weekend, MIT will travel to the Women's Duplin Trophy Team Race at Tufts University while also hosting the Boston Dinghy Cup. On Saturday, the Engineers will also compete at the Central Series Two which will be co-hosted by Boston University and Northeastern University.
