MIT Coed Sailing Enters Season in National Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With the release of Sailing World's Sperry – Top Sider College Fall 2013 Preseason Rankings, the MIT coed sailing team finds itself in 17th place to start the year. The Engineers make their debut on Thursday, Sept. 5 when they host the Firefly Invite.
A member of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association, MIT is one of 10 teams from the league to earn a national ranking. Fellow conference foes include: Yale (No. 2), Dartmouth (No. 3), Boston College (No. 5), Brown (No. 8), Tufts University (No. 10), Roger Williams University (No. 11), Harvard (No. 16), Vermont (No. 18), and Connecticut College (No. 19). The Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association was represented by seven squads, followed by two from the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association, and one from the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference.
