MIT Women's Sailing Moves Up in National Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Bolstered by its sixth-place finish at the Stu Nelson Trophy, the MIT women's sailing team inched up to No. 11 in this week's Sperry – Top Sider College Rankings. The coed squad, meanwhile, now stands at No. 19.
A member of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association, the women's team is one of eight squads from the league to earn a national ranking. Fellow conference foes include: Yale (No. 1), Boston College (No. 2), Dartmouth (No. 3), Brown (No. 6), Roger Williams University (No. 10), Bowdoin College (No. 12), and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (No. 13). The Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association was represented by four squads, followed by two from the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association and one from the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference.
MIT returns to the water this weekend, as it will host the Schell Trophy and compete in the Victorian Coffee Urn at Harvard.
