Stewart, Omura Named NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (September 22) – MIT seniors Alec Stewart (Duxbury, Mass.) and Paige Omura (Honolulu, Hawaii) have been named as the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association's (NEISA) Coed Sailors of the Week for their outstanding performance at the Hatch Brown Trophy last weekend.

Stewart and Omura clinched first place in the C-Division, placing them ahead of No. 8 nationally ranked Dartmouth College, as the duo won six of the final nine rotations and notched 12 top-3 finishes over the 17 rotation two-day regatta. As a team MIT, ranked No. 14 in the latest Sailing World national poll, finished fourth at the Hatch Brown Trophy on its home course on the Charles River.

MIT continues its fall schedule at three regattas this weekend including the St. Mary's Fall Intersectional in Maryland, the Hood Trophy at Tufts University and the Amanda Trophy at Roger Williams University.
