Engineers Rank 13th at Boston Dinghy Trophy
March 26, 2007
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - C-Division skipper Josh Leighton and crew Leigh Casadaban had a strong outing, despite MIT's overall 13th-place finish at the Boston Dinghy Cup this past weekend. The third division circuit ranked a stunning seventh out 18 entries during the two-day event along the Charles River.
Leighton and Casadaban finished in the top 10 in every race but one, as the duo fought off shifty winds that built to 12-15 knots for most of the rounds. Sunday's tilts were stopped early as breezes came to an abrupt halt.
MIT's `A' and `B' groups finished 12th and 15th, respectively.
Roger Williams University won the event with a score of 181.
The Cardinal and Gray will host the Oberg Trophy next weekend.
