MIT Shines in Lane Trophy Team Race
Oct. 18, 2006
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Battling shifty winds at 5-10 knots from the west, MIT fell just short of first place in a sail-off against Boston College at the Lane Trophy Team Race on Sunday. The gold fleet showdown along the breezy Mystic Lake followed a day in which the Engineers tied the Eagles with an 8-2 record.
The Cardinal and Gray teamed skippers Jack Field, Jake Muhleman, and Brooks Reed with crews Sylvia Yang, Julie Arsenault, and Sunny Wicks, respectively. Tech's top tandems earned a spot in the gold fleet competition after emerging as one of the top four entries in the single round robin.
The event featured eight New England teams including Harvard University and host Tufts University.
