CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior captain Jim (JM) Modisette capped an impressive career with a delightful final season en route to honors as NEISA All-New England Sportsman of the Year. The award, which was voted by Modisette's competitors, goes to the sailor displaying unequivocal skill in leadership and sportsmanship, and is widely considered one of the top honors any collegiate sailor can receive.
Modisette also earned distinction as an All-New England skipper. Although the Engineers are always represented by a solid crew, Modisette virtually carried MIT sailing on its back, serving as skipper in A-division in nearly every regatta. Often matched against the toughest sailors in the nation, his efforts helped guide MIT to No. 14 in the College Sailing National Rankings.
