Zomnir, Kirschbaum Strong in Defeat as Camels Take Tech, 9-0
NEW LONDON, Conn. – Michael Zomnir and
Connor Kirschbaum waged the best battles for the MIT squash team in
a 9-0 loss to host Connecticut College at Luce Fieldhouse on
Wednesday. The Engineers fell to 2-10 on the year, while the Camels
improved to 7-6.
Zomnir won his first two games and continued to play consistently
despite a lopsided loss in the third tilt. But he ultimately fell
to Jeremy Wong, 12-14, 10-12, 11-1, 11-7, 11-6, in the No. 3
position.
Kirschbaum, meanwhile won his first game and stayed close the rest
of the way in a tough 9-11, 11-9, 13-11, 11-9 loss to Charlie
Bolton in the No. 7 spot.
MIT will host Fordham University on Saturday, Jan. 23.
