Thierry Lincou takes over the MIT squash progam beginning with the 2014-15 season.

Lincou brings international experience with him to MIT. The world No. 1 ranked squash player from 2004-05, he won the World Championship in 2004 as well as taking the European Championships in 2009 and 2010. He has represented France in more than 10 World Championships, winning two Silver medals and a Bronze medal. In 2009 Lincou was an Ambassador for Squash, making a presentation to the International Olympic Committee for the inclusion of the sport in the Olympic Games.

Sam Gould is entering his second season as assistant coach of the MIT Squash Team after serving as the Associate Head Coach last season. Gould helped the team reach an overall mark of 8-6 and a 31st place finish in the nation.

Gould attended Stanford University where he played No. 1 on the team ladder for all four years.  During his junior and senior seasons, he served as the captain and led the team to top 25 finishes in the CSA end-of-season rankings. In addition to the time he spent on the court, he also volunteered as the Athletic Director for Xtreme Squash, an academic and athletic enrichment program for underserved middle school students from Redwood City, Calif.

Gould earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford in 2011 and, since graduation, has been working as the Director of Youth Ministry for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
