Baseball Places 10 on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

Boston, Mass. (May 3) - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2017 Baseball Academic All-Conference Team as 10 MIT student-athletes are recognized on the team. MIT and WPI are tied for the league lead with 10 each, while 42 student-athletes are honored overall.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: Earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale after the 2016 fall semester, achieved second-year academic status at his institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The Engineers are 21-11-1 overall entering the regular-season finale at Endicott on Wednesday. Following that contest, the Engineers travel to Babson this weekend for the best-of-3 NEWMAC Championship Series. This marks MIT's third appearance in the NEWMAC Championship in the last four seasons.
