Westwood, Mass. (March 26) -- MIT senior Garrett Greenwood (Edmond, Okla.) has been named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Week for his performance in three games last week.
For the week that saw MIT sweep a NEWMAC doubleheader vs. WPI, Greenwood hit .429 with six hits, five runs scored, two doubles, one home run and 11 total bases. He also posted a .467 on-base percentage, a .768 slugging percentage and was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base opportunities. As a pitcher, Greenwood picked up the win in game one at WPI on Saturday, going six innings with five hits and one earned run allowed to go with five strikeouts and a .190 batting average against.
MIT currently sits at 4-4 overall and returns to action on Tuesday, March 27th as the Engineers travel to Clark University for a 3:30 p.m. meeting with the Cougars.
