Baseball Leads NEWMAC With 13 Academic All-Conference Selections

Westwood, Mass. (April 26) -- The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2018 Baseball Academic All-Conference Team. MIT has a league-high 13 honorees as there were 56 student-athletes recognized overall. 

Student-athletes must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2017 fall semester, achieved second-year academic status at his institution and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The Engineers, who are ranked No. 9 in the latest NCAA New England Regional Rankings, return to action at home on Saturday, April 28th vs. Springfield College. The teams will complete a halted game from earlier in the season starting at Noon (halted after eight innings) and then play a non-conference game. Prior to the non-conference matchup, the MIT baseball program will honor this year's Senior Class.
