Torre Swanson Named NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Rookie Torre Swanson was named the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week after guiding MIT to a pair of conference road victories last week.

Swanson extended his unblemished streak to open his collegiate career to four starts as the freshman righty enjoyed a 2-0 week while improving to 3-0 on the year. 

At Brandeis on Tuesday, Swanson worked six innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits while striking out three. On Saturday at Babson, Swanson tossed a complete game, scattering four hits while adding a pair of srikeouts. Swanson gave up two earned runs in 15 innings of work and ranks among the top five in the NEWMAC in wins, ERA, and opposing batting average.
