Men’s Heavyweight Crew Places 14th at the Princeton Chase

THE BASICS:

- Event: Princeton Chase

- Location: Princeton, N.J. (Lake Carnegie)

- The Lead: Racing in perfect conditions with warm temperatures and flat water at the three-mile Princeton Chase on Sunday, the MIT men's heavyweight crew team saw its first Varsity 8 capture 14th place while the second Varsity 8 ranked 39th out of 44 entries.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Varsity 8 started in the 10th slot and held its position throughout a clean solid race, finishing with a time of 13:29.190 that put it 10th among the first varsity boats and 14th overall. In addition, the Engineers improved upon last year's ranking of 22nd. The second Varsity 8, meanwhile, logged a time of 14:14.940 which also put it 10th among the "B" boats but resulted in 39th place in the overall standings.
