Men's Heavyweight Crew Closes Season At IRA Regatta

Cambridge, Mass. - The MIT men's heavyweight crew team wrapped up its 2004-05 campaign at the IRA National Championship Regatta in Cherry Hill, N.J. In a highly competitive field, the varsity eight placed sixth in the fourth level final with a time of 6:07.69, its best performance of the event. The Engineers' open four with coxswain recorded their fastest time in the third level final, finishing third in 7:23.07. The freshman eight advanced to the semifinals where it placed sixth in 7:07.21. Tech's masters eight posted an eighth-place performance in the grand final, notching a time of 8:15.49.
