CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - With the sun beaming on a warm, fall morning, MIT men's lightweight crew wrapped up its fall season with a good showing at the Foot of the Charles. The event included both lightweight and heavyweight crews, battling against the clock to see who would come out on top. In the varsity 4+ event, MIT's A crew crossed the line first in 26th place with a time of 14:19.9.
Following closely behind in 31st place was MIT's C boat in 14:34.4 and the B crew directly afterwards, finishing 32nd out of 40 boats, with a time of 14:39.2. The event was won by Harvard's A boat in 13:11.3.
MIT's Varsity Eight crew turned in a time of 13:52.5 to earn sixth in the event. The two lightweight boats that competed in the Freshman 8+ event finished in 12th and 15th with times of 15:03.5 and 16:21.3, respectively.
The Engineers will return to the water in the spring when they travel to New Haven, Conn. to face Yale on April 6.
