Intercollegiate Rowing Association Announces 2015 All-Academic Honorees
The Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Board of Stewards has announced the recipients of the 2015 IRA All-Academic distinction. A total of 295 student-athletes from 30 institutions were honored, with MIT standing fourth with 23 representatives from its men’s heavyweight, men’s lightweight, and women’s lightweight teams.

MIT Men's Lightweight Crew Travels to England for the Henley Royal Regatta
For the first time in six years, the MIT rowing program will be represented at the Royal Henley Regatta courtesy of the selection of the men’s lightweight team. Departing campus on Tuesday, June 23, the Engineers will spend two weeks in England where they will be contending for the Temple Challenge Cup (varsity 8+) and the Prince Albert Challenge Cup (varsity 4+) during July 1-5.

MIT Reaches Petite Finals at IRA National Championship
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Improving up last year’s performances at the IRA National Championship, the MIT men’s lightweight crew team won the varsity eight petite final and was the runner-up in the varsity four petite final this weekend. The event was the last stateside competition for the Engineers as they will race in the Royal Henley Regatta this summer in England.

Engineers Impress at EARC Eastern Sprints
WORCESTER, Mass. – Racing on Lake Quinsigamond in the EARC Eastern Sprints, the MIT men’s lightweight crew team turned in several fine performances against Division I foes on Sunday morning. The Engineers were sixth in the varsity eight grand final, first in the second varsity eight petite final, and third in the third varsity eight petite final.

Men’s Lightweight Crew Shines at Dad Vail Regatta
PHILADLEPHIA, Pa. – In its last tune-up before heading into postseason action, the MIT men’s lightweight crew team had both of its entries compete in the finals at the Dad Vail Regatta this weekend in Philadelphia. The varsity eight was the runner-up for the Thomas W. Loschiavo Trophy while the second varsity four finished fourth while vying for the James J. Lynch Trophy.

MIT Men’s Lightweight Crew Competes in the Geiger Cup
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The nationally-ranked No. 5 MIT men’s lightweight crew team generated a trio of third-place finishes as it hosted No. 1 Cornell University and No. 2 Columbia University in the Geiger Cup on Saturday morning.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In a pair of outings on the Schuylkill River, the MIT men’s lightweight crew team picked up victories over the University of Delaware and the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Harvard Edges MIT Men’s Lightweight Crew at Biglin Bowl
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second week in a row, the MIT men’s lightweight varsity 8+ nearly picked up a win but Harvard edged out the Engineers by one second in the Biglin Bowl on Saturday. The Engineers also finished second in the JV4+ while placing third in the second and third varsity 8+ races.

MIT Men’s Lightweight Crew Has Solid Showing at the Joy Cup
DERBY, Conn. – Racing on the Housatonic River, the MIT men’s lightweight varsity 8+ was four tenths of a second shy of defeating host Yale at the Joy Cup on Saturday morning. The Engineers also secured runner-up finishes in the second varsity 8+ and third varsity 8+ events.

Engineers Participate in Dartmouth Green Monster
HANOVER, N.H. – Battling cold temperatures and light rain on the Connecticut River, the MIT men’s lightweight crew team captured 13th place at the Dartmouth Green Monster on Saturday. Competing in an event for novice crews, all but two members of the Engineers’ boat saw their first action of the year.

Men’s Lightweight Crew Has Solid Showing at Head of the Charles
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT men’s lightweight crew team kicked off the 2014-15 season with several strong performances at the 50th Head of the Charles on Sunday. The Engineers began the day with a 10th place finish in the Lightweight Fours before their two entries in the Lightweight Eights captured ninth and 16th place.
