Men’s Lightweight Crew Races for Geiger Cup

THE BASICS:

- Event: Geiger Cup

- Location: Overpeck County Park (Leonia, N.J.)

- The Lead: Competing against Cornell, which claimed the 2014 and 2015 national championships, and reigning national champion Columbia, the MIT men's heavyweight crew team finished third in each of its races at the Geiger Cup on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In all three outings, the Engineers had a really aggressive first half of their races but they could not sustain the pace as Cornell and Columbia battled for the finish line. The Varsity 8 recorded a time of 6:35.1 while the 2V8 completed the course in 6:41.6. Tech's 4+ rounded out the contingent with a time of 7:40.2
