Men’s Lightweight Crew Races in Joy Cup

THE BASICS:

- Event: Joy Cup

- Location: Cambridge, Mass. (Charles River)

- The Lead: Competing against Yale and Georgetown in the Joy Cup, the MIT men's lightweight crew team finished third in its Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 races on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Nationally-ranked No. 5 Yale won the Varsity 8 race in 6:32.557, followed by No. 11 Georgetown (6:40.022) and the No. 12 Engineers (6:54.610).

- In the Second Varsity 8 competition, Yale recorded a comfortable, crossing the finish line in 6:40.558. Georgetown was next (6:58.576) while MIT was third (7:11.561).
