Men's Fencing Defeats Dartmouth and Tufts

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Following a six-week hiatus, the MIT men's fencing team returned to action with its final Northeast Fencing Conference competition of the season on Saturday. The Engineers (7-9, 5-5 NFC) overpowered Dartmouth College (19-8) and Tufts University (24-3) but fell to Vassar College (18-9), host Boston College (14-13), and Brown University (19-8). Junior Benjamin Lin (Beaverton, Ore.) and sophomore Tzer Wong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) both produced 13-2 ledgers for the sabre squad while sophomore Alexander Andriatis (Hanover, N.J.) generated a record of 7-4 for the epee team. Junior Matthew Cavuto (Skillman, N.J.) was the top performer for the foil unit with a tally of 6-9.
