BOSTON, Mass. - In its final outing of the regular season, the MIT men's fencing team competed at the Beanpot hosted by Harvard University on Wednesday night. The Engineers (10-14) were edged out by Brandeis University (15-12) in addition to suffering losses to Boston College (18-9) and Harvard (19-8). Sophomore Tzer Wong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) led the way with a 7-2 record for the sabre unit as senior Giulio Gueltrini (Ravenna, Italy) won all four of his epee bouts while also going 1-2 in foil action. Sophomore Alberto Ancona (Boston, Mass.) turned in the best performance for the foil squad with a 2-2 ledger.
Next up for MIT will be the New England Championship on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Wellesley College.
