Men's Fencing Goes 3-2 at NFC Competition

Providence, R.I. (January 28) - The MIT men's fencing team returned to action with a 3-2 performance at its second and final Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) competition on Saturday hosted by Brown University. The Engineers defeated Tufts University (21-6), Dartmouth College (20-7), and Vassar College (15-12) but fell to Boston College (15-12) and Brown (16-11), moving the Engineers' record to 8-7 on the year and 6-4 in the NFC. Junior Tzer Wong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) powered the sabre squad with a 13-2 record as freshman Avi Zeff (Philadelphia, Pa.) paced the foil team with an 11-4 ledger. Senior Sam Judd (Wyckoff, N.J.) led the way for the epee unit with a 10-5 mark.
