Men’s Fencing Edges out Brandeis at the Beanpot

Chestnut Hill, Mass. (February 15) - In its final outing of the regular season, the MIT men's fencing team defeated Brandeis University, 14-13, at the 10th Annual Beanpot on Wednesday. The victory came after the Engineers (14-15) fell to host Boston College (16-11) and Harvard (22-5). Freshman Yixuan Pei (Baltimore, Md.) racked up a 7-2 record for the epee team as junior Tzer Wong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) paced the sabre squad with a 5-4 mark. Freshman Arjun Gupta (Springfield, Va.) turned in the best performance for the foil contingent as he went 2-7.

Next up for MIT will be the New England Championship on Saturday, March 4.
