MIT Sweeps Competition at Chestnut Hill

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's fencing team went unscathed in its first competition since December this past weekend at Boston College. The Engineers posted victories over the host Golden Eagles (14-13), Brown University (15-12), Brandeis University (15-12), and Dartmouth College (23-4).

The epee squad dominated the field as it won every match, resulting in a 24-12 ledger. Trevor Chang had the best showing for the Engineers as he finished with a 10-2 mark, while Matt Gethers went 8-4.

A 9-0 win over Dartmouth helped lead the foil team to a 23-13 record. Jason Chen posted a pair of 3-0 victories en route to a 9-3 ledger while Spencer Sugimoto notched a total of 8-4.

With a 20-16 finish, every member of the sabre squad posted at least a .500 record. Brian Quattrochi led the way with a 7-5 mark, followed by William Walsh (6-4), Igor Kopylov (6-6), and Raymond Wu (1-1).
