CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's fencing team concluded its season in the familiar confines of the Johnson Athletic Center as it hosted the NCAA Northeast Regional on Sunday. Daniel Levine recorded the best performance for the Engineers as he finished in 10th place in foil. The rookie became the fourth foilist in the program's history to secure a top-10 finish and the first since Jason Chen in 2007.
Benjamin Nield and Richard LaGrandier rounded out the foil squad with finishes of 20th and 26th, respectively. Matt Gethers paced the epee team with a 13th place finish, narrowly missing the cut for the national championship. Gabriel Chan and Carter Chang followed with rankings of 24th and 26th. MIT's sabre contingent placed closely together, with Maximilian Brand leading the way at 21st as Igor Kopylov finished right behind him. Rangarajan Nadadur completed the squad with a ranking of 26th.
