CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman Tucker Cheyne (Avon, Conn.) continues to have an impressive first season as MIT's placekicker and his effort against Nichols College on Friday night has earned him Special Teams Player of the Week honors from the New England Football Conference. It was the second time this season that Cheyne has been named to the honor.
In MIT's 48-0 win over Nichols he had a perfect night as a placekicker. He converted on all six of his PAT attempts, tying the Engineers' record for PATs in a game. He also hit on a pair of field goal attempts, converting from 23 and 32 yards. His 12 points scored in the contest broke his own record for points in a game by a kicker that he set in each of the first two games this season.
