Cambridge, Mass. (June 22) -- The MIT football program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2017 season, which will mark the team's first season in the newly formed New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) football conference. The Engineers will be under the direction of ninth-year head coach Chad Martinovich.
The overall season opener is scheduled for Friday, September 1st as MIT travels to Becker College for a 7 p.m. start. This year's schedule features five home games, including the home opener vs. Curry College on Friday, September 8th beginning at 7 p.m. The Engineers open NEWMAC action on Saturday, September 23rd as the team travels to Washington, D.C. to take on Catholic for a Noon start.
The first home league game is slated for Saturday, October 7th as the Engineers will host Maine Maritime for a Noon start at Steinbrenner Stadium. MIT's other home opponents include a non-conference game vs. Endicott, along with NEWMAC contests with WPI and Norwich.
