MIT's offensive coordinator, Ray Butler will be in his fourth consecutive season and fifth overall on the MIT football coaching staff in 2011. He will also be serving as the Engineer's offensive line position coach.

Butler is a veteran football coach in the New England area, totaling over 18 years of coaching experience. Prior to joining the MIT staff in 2008, Butler served as the offensive coordinator at Framingham State, Curry College, and Mount Ida College. He has also served on the staffs at UMass-Lowell and the University of Rhode Island working with the offensive line, running backs and coordinating video. Butler began his collegiate coaching career at MIT in 1999 when he was the running backs coach.

Outside of his MIT coaching duties Butler has worked as a physical education instructor at both the elementary, high school and collegiate levels. He is currently on the staff at the Boston Latin School where teaches physical education classes for grades 8-12.

Butler attended Boston University, earning a bachelor of science degree in human movement in 1993. He went on to get his Master's in human movement from BU in 1995.
