Sam Jasinski is entering his second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Engineers. He assists with the defensive lineman.
Prior to joining the MIT coaching staff, Jasinski served as a volunteer defensive coach in youth football leagues in the Washington, D.C. area.
Jasinski graduated from MIT in 2008 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a minor in political science. Jasinski also earned an M.S. in engineering and technology innovation management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. While at MIT, Jasinski was a four-year starting linebacker for the Engineers, totaling 204 tackles in his career. Jasinski was named to the New England Football Conference All-Academic Team in 2005, 2006, and 2007. As a senior, Jasinski served as a team captain and was named to the All-Boyd Division Second Team. Jasinski also played varsity lacrosse for four seasons while at MIT.
Although his roots are in Pittsburgh, Jasinski grew up in Martinez, Georgia where he started playing football at age seven and continued on to become a decorated linebacker for the Lakeside High School Panthers.
