BOSTON, Mass. - MIT freshman Michael Traub (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) of the men's lacrosse team was named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying eight goals, five assists, and five groundballs.
In a 17-6 win over Emerson College last Wednesday, Traub was a factor in nine of the Engineers' goals as he recorded seven goals and two assists in addition to three groundballs. He capped of the week with one goal, three assists, and two groundballs in a 9-6 victory at Wheaton College, the first for MIT since 2007. Traub set up the game-winning goal and provided the helper on an insurance marker, both coming in the fourth quarter.
This week the Engineers will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Babson College on Wednesday, April 23 before hosting Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday, April 26.
