Men's Lacrosse Falls To Babson, 9-5

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Babson College defeated the MIT men's lacrosse team, 9-5, in Pilgrim Lacrosse League action on Wednesday. Isaac Taylor led the Engineers (3-4, 2-2 Pilgrim) with two goals. Zach Brewer collected 23 saves in goal.
Babson took control early with a goal 1:16 into the contest. The game remained scoreless until the 11:46 mark of the second period, when the Beavers extended their lead to two. Babson ended the half with a 4-0 advantage over Tech. After the Beavers posted a pair of goals early in the third frame, MIT's Taylor ended the shutout with 7:59 remaining. Babson scored once more, resulting in a 7-1 lead at the close of the period.
The Engineers' offense came alive in the final stanza, as it outscored the Beavers, 4-2. Babson posted the first goal of the period, only to be answered with a score from Clinton Cain at the 9:59 mark. Almost 30 seconds later, Taylor tacked on his second goal of the day. The Beavers tallied its final goal of the day, interrupting MIT's run. Tech recorded two more goals during the last three minutes of the game. Jonathan Stolmeier set up Carter Powers with 3:21 left on the clock. A minute later, Stefano Young notched the last goal of the game.
