Lasell Defeats MIT, 15-6

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's lacrosse team fell to Pilgrim League foe Lasell College, 15-6, on Wednesday. Brennan Sherry totaled two goals and Jonathan Stolmeier contributed a goal and two assists for the Engineers (5-4, 3-3 Pilgrim). In net, Zach Brewer made 17 stops for MIT.

The Lasers opened the scoring by tallying two goals during the first 10 minutes. Sherry put Tech on the board after connecting on a feed from Andrew Leone. Lasell recorded three goals in the second stanza, resulting in a 5-1 lead at the intermission.

Stolmeier set up Scott Purchase for the first goal of the second half. The Lasers answered nearly 30 seconds later. Stolmeier then found himself on the receiving end of a Purchase pass, cutting MIT's deficit to three (6-3). Lasell responded by scoring four unanswered goals, three of which during the third period.

The Engineers ended the scoring spree when Patrick Bossi converted a feed from Stolmeier. The Lasers posted another four-goal spurt over a span of eight minutes. Sherry posted an unassisted tally with 2:30 left to play. Lasell quickly tacked on another goal, which was followed by Tyler Sorba's unassisted score.
