Hammond Named NSCAA Regional Scholar Honorable Mention
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Chris Hammond (Wilmington, Del.) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Men’s Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention Team on Tuesday. This is the second year in a row that he has appeared on the list.

Ben Lewis Named to ECAC All-Star Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After being named to the NSCAA All-America first team and the All-New England North first team earlier this week, senior Ben Lewis (West Hartford, Conn.) added another award to his resume when he was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Division III All-Star team.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Just one day after being named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's All-America First Team, senior Ben Lewis (Hartford, Conn.) was named to the organization’s All New-England North First Team. Freshman Sean Bingham (Garden City, N.Y.) made it onto the Second Team.

Ben Lewis Receives All-America Honors
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Ben Lewis (West Hartford, Conn.) was named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men’s All-America First Team as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Lewis is only the fourth MIT men’s soccer player to ever receive such an honor, the last of which being Nick Nestle in 2003.

MIT Men's Soccer Falls to SUNY Oneonta, 4-2, in First Round of NCAAs
ONEONTA, N.Y. – After being behind by three goals at the end of the first half, the MIT men’s soccer team lost to SUNY Oneonta, 4-2, in the first round of NCAAs. This is only the third time in program history that the Engineers have made it to the tournament, the last time being in 2008.

NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Awards
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A league-leading 57 athletes represented MIT on the 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Fall Academic All-Conference Team. Criteria includes a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale, achieving second year academic status at his or her institution, and being a member of a varsity team for the entire season.

Four Engineers Named to Men's Soccer All-Conference Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s soccer all-conference teams were released on Tuesday, revealing the names of four Engineers. Freshman Sean Bingham (Garden City, N.Y.) was voted as the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year and was joined by sophomore John Kramer (Glastonbury, Conn.) on the Second Team.

Men's Soccer to Face SUNY Oneonta at NCAAs
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After winning its first NEWMAC title in program history against Springfield on Sunday afternoon, the MIT men’s soccer received an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Championship tournament. The Engineers will travel to Oneonta, N.Y. to face host SUNY Oneonta over the weekend.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Chris Hammond (Wilmington, Del.) and sophomore Nick Diamantoni (Belle Mead, N.J.) were named to the Capital One Academic All-District men’s soccer team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday night.

MIT Men's Soccer Edges Out Wheaton in Overtime of NEWMAC Quarterfinals, 1-0
NORTON, Mass. – MIT men’s soccer defeated Wheaton, 1-0, in overtime of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship quarterfinals. Sophomore Nick Diamantoni (Belle Mead, N.J.) scored the golden goal in the 96th minute following a cross from junior Andrew Fijan (Westchester, Pa.).

WORCESTER, Mass. – MIT men’s soccer closed out its regular season with a win against Clark, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon, securing the fifth and final spot in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship.

Engineers Shut Out the Blazers, 8-0
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following an upsetting loss to Coast Guard over the weekend, the MIT men’s soccer team turned things around quickly when they shut out Elms College with a score of 8-0 on a brisk Monday night. The Engineers improved to 10-4-1 for the season, while the Blazers dipped to 6-7-2.

MIT Loses to Coast Guard, 1-0, in Overtime
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Men’s soccer lost to Coast Guard in overtime following a scoreless 90 minutes on senior day on Saturday afternoon when Matt Epperly scored five minutes into overtime. MIT fell to 9-4-1 for the season and 3-2-1 in conference play while the Bears are now at 10-4-1 for the season and 4-0-1 in NEWMAC play.

Freshmen Freel and Bingham Lead Engineers to Victory Over Tufts
SOMERVILLE, Mass. - After falling a goal behind just six minutes into the first half, the MIT men's soccer team fought for the win with a two-goal second half in its game against Tufts on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Sean Bingham (Garden City, N.Y.) broke the tie when he scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute of play.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT men’s soccer were defeated by NEWMAC foe Springfield, 3-1, on a chilly Saturday afternoon, marking the first game the men have lost since the Sept. 15 game against Babson.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Andrew Young (Livingston, N.J.) received NEWMAC men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon following shutouts against No. 9 regionally ranked Salve Regina and previously ranked WPI the week before.

WORCESTER, Mass. – MIT men’s soccer defeated WPI, 2-0, on Saturday evening, earning its fifth shutout of the season. Sophomore John Kramer (Glastonbury, Conn.) saw the most action out of both teams, scoring one of MIT’s goals and following that up with an assist on the second.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Following a scoreless first half and a fast-paced second half, the MIT men's soccer team went on to shut out Salve Regina, 3-0 on Tuesday evening. The Engineers are now 7-2-1 for the season, while the Seahawks dipped to 9-2-1.

MIT Men's Soccer Ties Wheaton in Double OT, 1-1
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - MIT men's soccer tied with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Wheaton after going into double overtime, leaving the score at the end of 110 minutes at 1-1. The Engineers' record is now 6-2-1 and the Lyons' is 6-3-1.

BOSTON, Mass. - In their first meeting since 2010, a game which MIT were victorious 3-1, the men's soccer team defeated Emmanuel, 7-1. Freshman Sean Bingham (Garden City, N.Y.) and sophomore John Kramer (Glastonbury, Conn.) each scored two goals.

MIT men’s soccer got off to a good start against Roger Williams at home on Wednesday night with a goal by freshman Austin Freel (San Diego, Calif.) after a cross from senior Chris Hammond (Wilmington, Del.) 15 minutes into the first half.

BABSON PARK, Mass. – At the first New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) showdown of the season, the MIT men’s soccer team lost to Babson, 2-4, with senior Matthew Monheit (Abington, Pa.) scoring both goals. The Babson Beavers remain undefeated with a record of 5-0-1, while the Engineers dipped to 4-2.

Men's Soccer Falls to Brandeis in Overtime, 4-3
WALTHAM, Mass. - After coming from behind to tie the game at 3-3, the MIT men's soccer team lost to Brandeis in overtime when the Judges scored 79 seconds in on a free kick. The Engineers' ledger fell to 4-0-1, while Brandeis raised their record to 5-0-0.

Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Wentworth Institute of Technology, 4-0
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Within 11 minutes of the start of the game, MIT went up 1-0 against the Wentworth Institute of Technology and went on to shut out the Leopards, 4-0. The Engineers are now 4-0-0 for the season, while Wentworth fell to 0-3-1.

MIT Men's Soccer Defeats Framingham State, 3-0
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After traveling to Framingham State for their first away game of the 2012 season, MIT men’s soccer team returned home victorious after beating the Rams, 3-0. Freshman Austin Freel (San Diego, Calif.) tallied two assists, as the Engineers’ raised their record to 3-0, while Framingham State dipped to 0-1-1.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In only his second collegiate soccer game, freshman Sean Bingham (Garden City, N.Y.) scored two goals, helping the Engineers defeat local foe Emerson, 5-0.

MIT Men’s Soccer Opens 2012 Season with a Win
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the opening game of the season and the first meeting between the two teams since 1937, the MIT men’s soccer team defeated Bridgewater State 2-1 on Friday night. Senior Ben Lewis (West Hartford, Conn.) led the way by scoring his first goal of the season.

MIT Athletics Fall 2012 Webcast Schedule Set
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Webcasting is back for the 2012-13 season for MIT Athletics, with a schedule that includes 23 different contests lined up for the fall it was announced today. Games for field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men’s water polo will all be included in the lineup.
