Men's Soccer Falls To Coast Guard, 2-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The U.S. Coast Guard Academy defeated MIT, 2-1, in the NEWMAC opener for both teams on Friday. Joshua Campoverde broke a scoreless tie with 2:10 left in the first half, giving the Engineers (2-2, 0-1 NEWMAC) the lead heading into the intermission.

The Bears' Nate Wojcik posted the equalizer 10:02 into the second stanza, connecting on a feed from Martin Villa. Chris Toussaint registered the game-winning goal off a corner kick from Scott Senkier in the 67th minute.

In goal, Thomas Caldwell made one save for the Engineers while Steven Davies made eight stops for Coast Guard (4-1-1, 1-0 NEWMAC).
