CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - James Zorich headed in a corner kick by Ryan Sheffler with 2:04 remaining in regulation to give MIT a 2-1 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology on Tuesday. With the win, the Engineers improve to 6-5 on the season while the Leopards fall to 5-8.
Wentworth had numerous chances early in the contest, as it was awarded six corner kicks during the first 13 minutes. The Leopards appeared to take a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute, but the goal was negated due to an offside call. Wentworth eventually ended the scoreless affair five minutes later when Chris Hartmann fed Dan Marra, who eluded the defense and found the far post.
MIT notched the equalizer at the 53:55 mark when Sheffler served a corner kick into the goal mouth which was deflected into the back of the net. In goal, Thomas Caldwell collected four saves for the Engineers while John Brault made five saves for Wentworth.
