Springfield Downs MIT, 2-1, In Overtime

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's soccer team dropped its second consecutive overtime game as it fell to NEWMAC foe Springfield College, 2-1, on Saturday. The Engineers' record now stands at 6-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

David Nole put Tech on the scoreboard 29:42 into the contest when he headed in a pass from Ryan Sheffler. The Pride's (3-10-1, 1-3-1 NEWMAC) Paul Lepak tallied the equalizer at the 37:33 mark.

The deadlock would continue until 2:47 had expired in the first overtime period. Colin Cook blasted a shot that deflected off MIT goalkeeper Thomas Caldwell. Matt Lee collected the rebound and posted the game-winning goal.

Caldwell recorded six saves in the loss while B.J. Sturdivant made three stops for the Pride.
