CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second time this season junior Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.) had his accomplishments in the pool for the MIT men's swimming and diving team earn him recognition as the national Counsilman Hunsaker Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com. It the third time this season an MIT swimmer has honored with the award.
Ubellacker picked up a pair of individual wins for MIT that helped the No. 4 Engineers down 10th-ranked Amherst last Saturday. He started his individual victories with a 20.86 time in the 50 Free that was good for the win as well as an NCAA "B" cut. He then came back later in the meet in the 100 Fly, taking that event with a time of 50.77. Ubellacker also helped the Engineers score wins in the relays. He swam the third leg in the opening 200 Medley Relay that defeated its counterpart from Amherst by nearly 1.5 seconds in 1:33.23, another NCAA "B" cut performance. In the 400 Free Relay he swam the leadoff leg and helped MIT to another win as they finished with a time of 3:07.07.
