CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.) of the MIT men's swimming and diving team, has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in both the 50 and 100-meter freestyle events. He qualified for the 50-meter event at a long course invitational race held just after the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. He swam his 100 qualifying time in early May at a long course event at MIT.
Ubellacker, who earned All-America honors in seven events at the NCAA Championships, finished his 50-meter race in a time of 23.23, under the Olympic qualifying standard of 23.49. His 100-meter time was 51.40, just under the 51.49 cut. Having qualified for the Trials, he will continue to train for the meet that will be held in Omaha, Nebraska from June 25-July 2.
