Ubellacker will swim three events throughout the week.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - MIT's Wyatt Ubellacker has had quite the impressive year: the senior helped lead the men's swimming and diving team to its fifth consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title, while also being named the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year for his five first place finishes, three of which were individual, and four conference records.

Wyatt Ubellacker to be Featured in Sports Illustrated's 'Faces in the Crowd'
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.) will appear in the 'Faces in the Crowd' section of Sports Illustrated that is set to hit stands on Monday, April 8. Ubellacker, who is only the fourth MIT student-athlete to be featured in the magazine, was recognized for his accomplishments in the pool this year.

MIT Men's Swimming Finishes Third at NCAAs, Ubellacker Named Swimmer of the Year
SHENANDOAH, Texas - The MIT men's swimming and diving team finished third overall in the team rankings with 334 points at the 2013 Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, the highest the Engineers have ever placed, having taken fourth the past two years. Last year, MIT scored 235 points. Denison came second with 428 points and Kenyon returned to the top with 499.5 points.

MIT Men's Swimming Holds Onto 3rd Place Ranking on Day Three of NCAAs
SHENANDOAH, Texas - MIT men's swimming and diving sent eight to finals on the third day of competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship, the highest number of Engineers to swim at finals so far this week. The 800-yard freestyle relay also competed, finishing in ninth place with a time of 6:41.15.

Ubellacker Finishes 1st in 100 Fly, Mock Touches 2nd in 200 Free on Exciting 2nd Day of NCAAs
SHENANDOAH, Texas - The MIT men's swimming and diving team returned to the Conroe Natatorium on the second day of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship, sending three back to championship finals in individual events. Senior Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.), who was the national champion in the 50-yard freestyle last night, added another national title to the list when he won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 47.41.

Ubellacker Wins 50 Free, Engineers Touch First in 200 Medley Relay on Day 1 of NCAAs
SHENANDOAH, Texas - On the first day of the four-day, eight-session NCAA Division III Championship, 11 members of the MIT men's swimming and diving team swam individual events, with four of them making it back to finals. Senior Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.) won his first national title in his career in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.81.

MIT Men's Swimming Heading to Texas for NCAAs
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sixteen members of the No. 1 nationally ranked MIT men’s swimming and diving team have been invited to the 2013 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which is set to take place in Shenandoah, Texas, from Wednesday, March 20 through Saturday, March 23. This is both the most swimmers the institution has ever sent to the meet before and the team with the most swimmers present.

NEWMAC Announces Winter Academic All-Conference Awards
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A league-leading 28 athletes represented MIT on the 2013 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Winter Academic All-Conference Team. Criteria includes a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale, achieving second year academic status at his or her institution, and being a member of a varsity team for the entire season.

Engineers Claim Fifth Consecutive NEWMAC Title
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's swimming and diving team captured its fifth consecutive title at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship that wrapped up on Sunday evening. Over the three-day, six-session meet, the Engineers won 15 events, earned eight NCAA A cuts, 34 B cuts and broke seven NEWMAC records, scoring 1178 points. Springfield came in second place with 658.50 points.

MIT Men's Swimming & Diving Increases Lead at NEWMAC Championships
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - With day two of the 2013 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving championships completed, the MIT men's team held on to the lead that they had established the day before. The Engineers won six of the seven events, bringing their point total to 750. Springfield College took over the second place spot with 438 points.

Engineers Lead after Opening Day of NEWMAC Championships
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After the first day of the 2013 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships that took place on Friday night, the MIT men's team won four of five swimming events and earned 323 points, placing them in first place going into tomorrow. Coast Guard is in second place with 158 points.

WELLESLEY, Mass. – After his performance at the Wheaton Invite over the weekend, freshman Dion Low (Valparaiso, Ind.) was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s Swimmer of the Week. He wrapped up the two-day meet with a second and a third place finish.

MIT Men's Swimming and Diving Ends Wheaton Invite with Multiple Wins
NORTON, Mass. - The MIT men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the second day of the Wheaton Invite with first place finishes in every event except for two. The next time the Engineers will race will be in the NEWMAC championship, which will take place in the Zesiger Center pool from Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 14-17.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - On Saturday afternoon, MIT men's swimming and diving team beat Coast Guard, 137-91, taking first place in ten of the 13 events. Freshman Alex Lednev (Glenmont, N.Y.) was the only Engineer to win both of his events.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the final day of the Winter Invitational, the MIT men’s swimming and diving team earned another nine NCAA B cuts in the morning and three A cuts and 12 B cuts at night, bringing their total to an impressive 35 national cuts over the weekend. The Engineers finished first with 1,445 points, followed by Keene state with 682, Harvard with 553, Tufts with 409, Wheaton with 286, Bowdoin with 264 and Colby with 94.

MIT Swimmers Participate in Sixth Annual Hour of Power Relays
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the fourth year in a row, the MIT men’s and women’s swim teams participated in the Ted Mullin "Leave It in the Pool" Hour of Power Relay for Sarcoma Research on Tuesday evening. In its sixth year, the event honors Carleton College swimmer Mullin, who passed away in the fall of 2006 from sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer.
