CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.) was named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's Swimmer of the Week following a successful weekend at the first official home meet of the season.
Against Bowdoin and Babson on Saturday afternoon, Ubellacker won the 50 freestyle in 20.15 and the 100 butterfly in 48.90. He earned NCAA A cuts in both of those events, as well as in the 100 freestyle as the lead-off of the 400 freestyle relay, going 44.45 and breaking his own school record of 44.79 in the process. He is currently first in the country in all three events.
So far this season, MIT has a record of 3-0. The Engineers will return to the pool from Nov. 30- Dec. 1 for the MIT Winter Invitational.
