Men’s Tennis Bound For 2017 NCAA Division III Tournament; Will Travel To Bowdoin This Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 8) – Coming off its 19th straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship yesterday afternoon, the MIT men's tennis team has learned that they will travel to Bowdoin College for the second and third rounds of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

MIT (17-4) earned a first round bye and for the second straight year will take on Stevens Institute of Technology (12-13), champions of the Empire 8 Conference, in the second round set for Friday afternoon at Bowdoin's Pickard Tennis Courts at a time to be determined later. Also in this regional are Nichols College (18-3) and UMass Boston (10-7), who will play in a first round match to decide which team will play host Bowdoin (18-4) in the second round.

The team advancing out of this weekend's regional will travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee for this year's NCAA Division III Team National Championship, which will take place from May 22 through May 24, 2017.
