No. 8 DePauw Overpowers No. 22 MIT, 8-1

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 22 MIT closed its spring training trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with an 8-1 loss to nationally-ranked No. 8 DePauw University. Mark Egan posted the lone win for the Engineers (6-3) as he defeated his No. 3 singles opponent, 6-4, 6-2.

Thomas Dohlman and Eric Beren fell, 8-4, in the top doubles position as Egan and Nichols were upended, 8-1. Ryan Castonia and David Iba rounded out the field with an 8-3 loss.

Dohlman dropped a hard fought No. 1 singles match, 7-5, 6-3 while Beren nearly forced a third set in the next slot (6-0, 7-5). Nichols fell by a 6-2, 6-0 decision as Castonia was defeated, 6-2, 6-2. In the last singles spot, Iba lost, 6-4, 6-0. No. 8
