  • Washington Named as NEWMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

    MIT sophomore Chris Washington (Frisco, Texas) has been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for his performance vs. No. 19 Williams College. This marks the first weekly honor for Washington.
  • No. 13 Engineers Compete at the Dick Farley Invite at No. 19 Williams

    In a dual meet with Williams College on Saturday, the No. 13 MIT men’s track and field team dropped a 104-93 final to the No. 19 ranked Ephs at the Dick Farley Invite.

    MIT freshman Yorai Shaoul (Raanana, Israel) has been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Tufts Quad Meet on Saturday.
  • Shaoul Posts Top Mark in the Nation to Lead No. 15 Men's Track and Field

    Over the weekend, the No. 15 MIT men’s track and field team finished third out of four teams in a tightly-contested quad meet at Tufts University as the Engineers finished with 170 points overall. RPI took the event with 175 points, followed by No. 23 Tufts at 172 and No. 25 Bates in fourth at 142 points.
  • Sweeney, Ruschel Named as NEWMAC Athletes of the Week

    MIT seniors Chris Sweeney (Woodland Park, Wash.) and William Ruschel (Bethel Park, Pa.) have been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athletes of the Week for their performance at the California Collegiate Open in San Diego. Sweeney is the league’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Ruschel is the Field Athlete of the Week. The Engineers are currently ranked No. 14 in the nation and finished sixth out of 14 teams with a total of 68 points.
  • No. 14 Men's Track and Field Finishes Sixth at California Collegiate Open

    In the opening meet of the outdoor season, the No. 14 ranked MIT men’s track and field team posted three top-10 national marks and finished sixth out of 14 teams with a total of 68 points at the California Collegiate Open. The meet featured a number of nationally-ranked Division III programs and Division I competition as the Engineers finished one point in front of regional foe Middlebury.

    In the NEWMAC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches Poll, the MIT men’s track and field team has been voted as the preseason favorite by the league’s head coaches.
  • Three Engineers Earn All-America Honors at NCAA Championship

    Led by a runner-up finish from freshman Yorai Shaoul (Raanana, Israel) in the triple jump, the No. 24 ranked MIT men’s track and field team placed 18th overall out of 66 teams with 12.5 points at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championship. Overall, the Engineers had three student-athletes earn All-America recognition over the two-day event.
  • Aidan Gilson Earns the Men's Indoor Track and Field Elite 90 Award

    Birmingham, Ala. (March 8) -- MIT track and field junior Aidan Gilson (Florence, Mass.) has been named as the recipient of the 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Track and Field Elite 90 Award, as announced by the NCAA at the championship banquet.
  • Rousseau Named as the USTFCCCA East Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year

    New Orleans, La. (March 7) -- As announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), MIT track and field assistant coach Derek Rousseau has been named as the New England Region Men’s Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year.
  • No. 7 Men's Track and Field Competes at Tufts Last Chance Qualifier

    On Saturday, the No. 7 ranked MIT men’s indoor track and field competed in its final meet before nationals as the Engineers took part in the Tufts Last Chance Qualifier at the Gantcher Center.

  • No. 3 Engineers Place Second at D3 Indoor New England's

    At the New England Division III Indoor Championship on Saturday, the No. 3 ranked MIT men’s track and field team finished second overall out of 28 scoring teams with a total of 97 points on the day. MIT claimed a pair of individual championships in the meet and had 21 All-New England performers, while No. 16 ranked Tufts University was the overall winner with a total of 110 points.
  • Gilson Sets 1,000 Record, DMR Shines for No. 3 Engineers

    Led by the fastest time in the nation from the distance medley relay team, the No. 3 ranked MIT men’s track and field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Gordon Kelly Invitational over the weekend.
  • No. 2 Men's Track and Field Shines at Pair of Weekend Meets

    Over the weekend, the No. 2 ranked MIT men’s indoor track and field team competed at the NEICAAA Indoor Championship and the Cupid Challenge, which was hosted by Tufts. At the NEICAAA meet, the Engineers finished 18th out of 24 scoring teams.
  • Gilson, Maloney Leads No. 6 Men's Track and Field at BU, Tufts

    Over the weekend, the No. 6 ranked MIT men’s track and field team competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at BU and the Branwen Smith-King Invitational as the team posted six top-20 national marks and a pair of event wins for the Engineers. At Tufts, team scores were kept as MIT finished third out of 14 schools with a total of 85.5 points.
  • No. 8 Men's Track and Field Wins the Bowdoin Invitational

    On Saturday at the Bowdoin Invitational, the No. 8 MIT men’s track and field team finished with 174.50 points to defeat Tufts by 42.50 points as the Engineers also defeated Bowdoin, Merrimack and Southern Maine behind six event victories.
  • No. 8 Men's Track and Field Defeats Bates and Colby
    January 13, 2018
    On Saturday at the Slovenski Indoor Track at Bates College, the No. 8 MIT men’s indoor track and field team defeated Bates College and Colby College in a tri-meet. The Engineers totaled 100 points, followed by Bates at 62 and Colby with 19. Overall, MIT picked up 10 event wins and had two performances that rank among the top 15 in the nation.
