Bratten Named as NEWMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Westwood, Mass. (April 23) -- MIT senior Cody Bratten (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) has been named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Sean Collier Invitational on Saturday. This is the first NEWMAC weekly award for Bratten this year.

Bratten won the discus and the shot put on Saturday and also placed fifth in the hammer throw to lead the Engineers. In the discus, he threw 158 feet, .75 inches to rank 18th nationally and first in the NEWMAC. Bratten also threw 49 feet, 1.75 inches to win the shot put as that is also the top mark in the NEWMAC.

The Engineers are back in action on Saturday, April 28th as the team travels to the NEWMAC Championship in Springfield, Mass.
