CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in row, MIT was the lone Division III program to have its men's and women's volleyball teams qualify for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The Engineers were the sole representatives on the Division III men's list and joined Harvard University and Stanford University as the only institutions to double-up on AVCA accolades.
The college ranks produced 224 programs that met the requirements, including 75 among Division III women's teams. Joining MIT on the list from New England was conference foe Springfield College along with Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Emerson College, Middlebury College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College.
