MIT Blanks Wentworth, 3-0
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With a 30-15, 30-16,
30-21 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology on Thursday,
the MIT men’s volleyball team improved to 8-4 on the year and
3-2 in North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New
England Division action.
Matt Hohenberger posted 12 kills, a .455 hitting percentage, seven
aces, three digs, and one block as David Thomas registered 10
kills, a .389 hitting performance, and four blocks. Garrett Winther
notched six kills, four blocks, and three digs while Mike
Demyttenaere recorded five kills on 10-errorless attempts to go
along with four blocks in two sets. Patrick Vatterott picked up
four kills and two blocks as Alex Becherer totaled four digs and
two aces. Eric Reuland collected 14 digs and 22-errorless service
reception attempts while Jeremy Velazquez chipped in five digs. Tim
Lee tallied 22 assists, four aces, and a block as Caine Jette
finished out the match with 12 assists and four digs.
