David Thomas Named New England Division Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following a strong performance at the MIT Men’s Volleyball Invitational, outside hitter David Thomas was voted the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division Rookie of the Week. The honor is the first for the Engineers since the 2007 season.

Thomas opened the weekend with four kills against Bard College and then tacked on seven kills, a .462 hitting percentage, and two blocks versus the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The Carlsbad, Calif. native compiled 10 kills and a. 444 hitting performance in two games against Hilbert College before closing the tournament with four kills, two digs, and two blocks in a sweep of Lasell College.
